‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ UK Star The Vivienne Passes Away at 32

A publicist confirmed on social media that the first-ever winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” has died, just days after welcoming 2025.

James Lee Williams, known worldwide as The Vivienne, has passed away at the age of 32. Publicist Simon Jones confirmed the news on Twitter, stating that The Vivienne’s family is heartbroken by the sudden loss.

News of the late drag artist’s death prompted an outpouring of tributes on social media. Fans expressed disbelief and grief, with one commenter writing, “😔😣 shocked like the rest of the world is😢❤️.”

Another user said, “Absolutely devastating and what a shock 🕊️💜 Rest in peace beautiful Angel.” A third paid tribute to The Vivienne’s legacy, “Can’t believe this. Heartbreaking news. What an icon. May the Viv rest in peace. 🕊️”

These tributes, alongside the publicist’s statement, came just days after The Vivienne shared a post on Instagram following New Year’s, encouraging charitable giving.

The post read, “Join me in giving back this year, everything I do charitable wise is usually for @sahirhouse house, Liverpools oldest LGBT+ charity!!! The work they do is incredible, thank you. £1 a month you won’t miss it. 💚”
